About Us
The Indian Lifesaving & Lifesaving Sports Federation is a national, independent, charitable organization that works to prevent drowning and water-related injury through its training programs, Water Smart public education, aquatic safety management services, drowning research and lifesaving sport.
Annually, over 10,000 Indians participate in our swimming, lifesaving, lifeguard and leadership training programs. As Indian’s lifeguarding expert The Lifesaving & Lifesaving Sports Federation sets the standard for aquatic safety and certifies Indian’s National Lifeguards.
The Federation represents India internationally and we are India’s Associate Member in the International Life Saving Federation &Member of International Federation of Swimming Teachers Association We are the governing body for lifesaving sport – a sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the Commonwealth Games Federation.

Our Structure
Active Members
The Active Members of the Indian Lifesaving Federation consist of an appointed representative from each Branch who attends all general and special meetings of the Active Members and vote on behalf of the Branch.

International Involvement
The Lifesaving & Lifesaving Sports Federation represents India internationally through membership in the International Life Saving Federation (ILS) and Member of International Federation of Swimming Teachers Association. Our international connections mean that we bring to Indians the best the world has to offer in lifeguarding, lifesaving and first aid techniques. It also establishes the Federation as a respected leader in advancing lifesaving and lifeguarding throughout the world.
Branches
Each province or territory of India is administered by a Branch. The Branch represents the Indian Lifesaving & Lifesaving Sports Federation with all provincial and territorial organizations, the Federation’s provincial and territorial affiliates, individual members and the general public. The Branch also serves as the official liaison with the provincial and territorial governments and their agencies.
Each Branch provides the Federation’s programs, products and services to the general public and to Lifesaving Society members throughout its geographical jurisdiction.
